DescriptionFrom the Trade Bead Market Ledger:
Blue Padre beads—often called “Crow beads” in trade accounts—were widely used across North American trade routes from the 18th into the 20th century. Their consistent size, opacity, and color made them a reliable unit of measure. Padre beads are one of the few bead types with documented numeric equivalencies in fur-trade ledgers, especially those of the Hudson’s Bay Company.
