Red White Hearts—known as “Cornaline d’Aleppo”—were high-visibility beads produced from the 15th through 20th centuries. Their red exterior and white core produced a rich visual contrast that made them popular across the American West, Great Lakes, and West Africa. They were widely recognized as premium plains-adornment stock and appear in numerous historic portraits and artifacts.
