Description"Lucas Foglia’s photographs explore the relationships between people, economy, and wilderness in rural America. Foglia grew up on a small family farm in New York and graduated from Brown University and the Yale School of Art. His first book, A Natural Order (Nazraeli Press, 2012), was published to critical acclaim. Focusing on people who responded to environmental concerns and the recession by moving off the grid in the rural southeastern United States, the book includes this memorable portrait of a woman named Cardin, photographed during a rainstorm in Virginia."
