Second man climbing onto wooden donkey has a drum on his back that reads " N.Y. / Tribune" and has a note hanging off of it that reads "This is / not / an / organ". Hat on ground next to wooden base reads "Whitelaw Reid", and ball next to wooden base reads "Public / men". Building made out of playing cards in background left reads "The N.Y. Tribune". Tall pole in background right has a flag at top reading "N.Y. / Herald", and a sign on it reading "The / North / Pole." Kite flying near pole reads "US" and tail of kite reads "Constitution". Man falling through sky above kite has sign next to him that reads "The / American / Caesar." Captioned "JUNIOR BENNET. 'You must take a back seat. I was on first.'" typeset beneath title in black ink.
