DescriptionFrom the portfolio forward:
"Peter Lipsitt, known for his architectural-scale public wall sculptures in Boston and Cambridge, works with forms inspired by columns and ancient containers. A frequent exhibitor throughout New England and New York, Lipsitt received his BA from Brandeis and an MFA from the Yale University Graduate School of Art; he attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. The artist spent two years in Ethiopia with the Peace Corps and has taught at Brandeis University and Wheaton College.
Lipsitt's print, a combination of intaglio and collagraph, continues his exploration of sculptural volume as metaphor of the human form. He combined copper, steel and papers with gesso and acrylic gel to create the relief plate that was printed with two colors."
