DescriptionMan sitting on ground sharpening pencil that has "H"s written down it. Paper below him has quote from N.Y. Tribune. Basket to right of man has paper with quote from Jeff Davis. Above basket is monument reading "Monument / in / honor (?) / of / Adams / Fall. / Boston. / Mass." To left of illustration is a quote by Thos. Carlyle. Other quotes and inscriptions on wall to left of the man.
