DescriptionFour rows of images on verso: the first occupies one-fifth of the vertical space and features a portraits of "Thomas Lowery" and "Calvin Oxendine", each one-fourth of the width, on either side of a map titled "Robeson County, North Carolina: The Scene of the Bandit's Operations". The second row is comprised of a single illustration titled "Henry Berry Lowery and his Gang in the Swamp" and occupies two-fifths of the height and the entire width of the page. The third row features two images of equal size titled 'Rescue of Lowery's Wife and Children" and "A Shrewd Maneuver". The row evokes the composition of the first, with two portraits of "Henderson Oxendine" and "George Applewhite" on either side of the "Moss neck". Titles lie beneath images in black ink.
