DescriptionTall man holding top hat in one hand bends over and hands letter to very short man from other hand. Signs in background with one man putting up sign. Captioned "A MEMBER OF THE CABINET. 'Please take in my card to the secretary--I beg your pardon--the Editor of War, and inquire if the war with Spain is over, as I wish / to make arrangements for signing the Treaty of Peace.'" typeset beneath title in black ink.
