DescriptionLargely self-taught, Post-Minimalist artist Richard Tuttle creates three-dimensional objects that he commonly refers to as drawings rather than sculpture. Tuttle’s spare and restrained When We Were at Home, 24 has a handcrafted, homemade feel, as though he has constructed the work from some painted off-cuts that he found in his studio. Tuttle held his first exhibition at Betty Parsons Gallery in 1965 and was represented by the celebrated gallerist until her death in 1982.
