DescriptionThis model reproduce at scale the ruins of the Temple of Vespasian in the ancient Roman forum, which still stand today. The ruins became so iconic during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries that models such as this one were often carried home as souvenirs by wealthy Europeans on the Grand Tour of Italy’s art and ruins.
