DescriptionThis model reproduces at scales the ruins of a temple in the ancient Roman forum, which still stands today. The ruins became so iconic during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries that models such as this one was often carried home as souvenirs by wealthy Europeans on the Grand Tour of Italy’s art and ruins.
