DescriptionDepicts Oiwa, the wife of samurai Tamiya Iemon. When a young woman named Oume falls in love with Iemon, her friends give Oiwa a gift of poisonous face cream to disfigure her. Tamiya Iemon then leaves Oiwa, and in her despair, she trips onto a sword while cursing Iemon's name. Oiwa haunts Iemon and takes on the shape of a paper lantern.
