It takes courage for people to say I don't know how to take care of a new born infant. In six lessons, I teach them about pregnancy, labor, delivery, nutrition of the mother and newborn, the first week of life, and growth and development in the first year. Mardi Gras is one of the biggest money making events the Pleasanton Juniors stage each year. We have king and queen candidates who hold money making events (dances, fashion shows, family pizza night, etc.) The candidate who raises the most money wins. Last year we raised $12,800.00 for the senior citizens transportation system and $1000.00 for youth counseling programs. The final event is the Mardi Gras Ball, over 500 people attended to drink, eat, dance and celebrate the coronation. Pleasanton, California, from the series "Our Kind of People"
