Description1/6 plate daguerreotype in half case depicting a painted portrait of Hubbard C. Pond (1812-1878) of Westmoreland and Utica, New York. According to a note in the back of the photograph, Hubbard's father was Andrew Storrs Pond (1787-1864) of German Flatts and Utica, New York. Hubbard's grandfather was Barnabas Pond, a Major in the Revolutionary War. Hubbard served as undersheriff of Oneida County from 1853-1855.
