DescriptionThe Dress Store was [S.] Klein's on Union Square (east side north of 14th street). Women would go in pairs to look for the bargains. One to hold purest clothes while the other tried on a dress. There were cubicles without doors. There was also, as shown , an employee who kept an eye on the customer to see that no one put on a new dress under the old one. - W. Roehrick '34
