DescriptionFrom the Tokyo Fuji Art Musem: “Sichirigahama still entices visitors to come to Kanagawa Prefecture, Kamakura City to view this coastal artwork. In the foreground there is Mount Kamakura and in the midground there is the village of Shichirigahama that is drawn. The islands seen to the left of the image are thought to be Sagami Bay and Enoshima Island. The print captures the moment of the sun setting from the west, illumination the village and the island within the backdrop of pursuing darkness. Though it is difficult to discern due to the fading colors, left of Mount Fuji puffs columns of summer clouds.”
