DescriptionFrom the portfolio forward:
"Fabricated from huge timbers and steel, Dewart's sculptures complement and define their environment by acting as gates, path markers or meditative focal points. Massive 12 foot wood arches easily span sidewalks while other sculptures invite participation by their combination of gong-form and mallet. The artist, a graduate of Harvard College and Massachusetts College of Art, is a frequent contributor to Boston's First Night celebration.
Murray Dewart's print uses traditional silk screen technique incorporating silhouettes of the artist's favorite sculptural forms and a fragment of a recent poem. Dewart also individually cut and painted each piece with watercolor."
