The Rosoni PainterEtruscan, active 580 - 550 BCE

Etrusco-Corinthian vase painter whose name is unknown. Nevertheless, consistent characteristics of style suggest the existence of an individual artistic personality. He has therefore been called the Rosoni Painter, having been named after the filling ornament of incised rosettes resembling the rose-windows of cathedrals that he made much use of. He was the leading artist in the third generation of Etrusco-Corinthian vase painters working in Vulci and the centre of a large circle. An extremely large number of vases have been attributed to his hand on the basis of style.
