DescriptionGeorge Heriot sailed for the West Indies in 1777 and reamined there until returning to England in 1781. From his experiences, he wrote and illustrated "A Descriptive Poem, written in the West Indies," published in London in 1781 (a copy of which is housed at Hamilton College Special Collections, PR4785.H74 D4 1781). Group dance in the countryside.
