DARAI, shot silk. / BOKHARA, TURKESTAN, XVIII Century. / In this type of silk the pattern is tied and dyed in the / warp theads before weaving; certain groups of warp / threads being protected from the dye by winding with a / thread or cord which is removed after dyeing."
