DescriptionKakemono-e vertical diptych depicting an Orian (courtesan). Her outer robe features the takaramono, or precious things, auspicious objects that include sacred jewels, a magic mallet that shakes out treasure, a hat that makes the wearer invisible, and a straw raincoat that allows the wearer to fly. She wears a pink cherry blossom print under robe tied with a checked obi with crossed scroll motifs. Her hair is pulled smoothly back into two loops, adorned with large combs and many hairpins.
