DescriptionRalston Crawford made this screenprint as a later response to two ink studies and a painting for the December 1946 issue of Fortune magazine. On July 1, 1946, Fortune sent Crawford to Bikini Atoll to witness the atomic bomb test, Able. The bomb missed its target, the U.S.S. Nevada, damaging, but not destroying it. The battleship was then used in a subsequent test called Baker.
